The AFRL Science and Technology Fellowship Program (STFP) is the premiere AFRL research associateship program. Since 1966, the Air Force has awarded over 1,000 research associateships.

STFP provides research associates opportunities for post-docs and senior research associates at various Air Force and Space Force laboratories in AFRL, AFIT, USSF, and USAF Academy.

STFP seeks Post-docs and Senior Research Associates of unusual promise and abilities that will:

– Solve problems, largely of their own choice, that are compatible with the research opportunities of the hosting AF and SF laboratories (AFRL, AFIT, USSF, & USAFA)

– Contribute to overall research efforts of the AF laboratories

Criteria

– US Citizens only

– Post-docs: < 5 years PhD; Seniors: > 5 years PhD

– Successful background review and visit authorization access to AF facilities

Stipends and Allowances

– Tenure term: Two years, 3rd year option available on limited basis

– Base Salary Minimum: Post-doc: $95,000 and Senior: $112,000 does not include additional benefits (years experience)

– Professional annual travel budget: $5,000
